About the Business
Welcome to St Bede’s Primary School, located in the beautiful suburb of Balwyn North, Australia. Our school, situated on Marwal Avenue, is an establishment that serves as both a point of interest and a primary school. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.
At St Bede's, our primary focus is on the students. We believe in providing them with contemporary and engaging learning opportunities that challenge them to become active learners. Whether inside the classroom or out, our students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and be invested in their own learning journey.
We understand that the primary school years are not just about the child, but also about the whole family. When you enroll your child at St Bede's, you become part of our school community, where we embark on this journey together. With a foundation of trust and mutual respect, we strive to create an exciting and enriching environment for your child to discover and learn.
Our school is inspired by the teachings of Bede, a committed scholar and educator in the service of God. With Bede as our model and Christ as our everlasting light, we aim to build a Catholic school community that fosters a love for learning, respect for one another, and a strong connection to our faith.
In addition to our academic curriculum, we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs for students to voluntarily participate in. These activities provide opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build friendships outside of the classroom.
Our Religious Education program is an integral part of our school community. We believe that by nurturing a sensitivity to God's presence in our lives and the world around us, we can shape our students into compassionate and responsible citizens of the world.
St Bede's operates under the guidance of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS). MACS oversees a network of 292 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese, all dedicated to providing a quality Catholic education that equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and hope to lead meaningful lives.
We invite you to explore our website for more information about St Bede's Primary School. However, we also encourage you to visit our school in person to truly experience the dynamic relationships that exist between our students, parents, and teachers. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our school community.

"Very good quality product definitely recommend it"
"A wonderful school! The Principal, teachers, and staff all treat kids with love, encouragement and respect and the parent community is very supportive. The teaching is really organized and fully aligned with Victoria curriculum in each subject. Good facilities, abundant resources and extra curriculum, and great transition preparation - not only for preps but also for grade 6 students."
"In the north Balwyn district we have a made up sport named battle ball, which is pretty much like dodgeball. The sports teacher is the head of sport in our district and is also known as st bedes teacher. In the battle ball tournament he knew there was lots of cheating going on and yet still didn’t make any action on the drama that was going on. He was favouring the other his own school and although he wasn’t reffing the game he could’ve always stepped up, be honest and use his voice to speak aloud rather then just watching his own school win and be happy about it. I believe there would’ve been lots of kids that were upset since it was the grand final. Even though battle ball isn’t a real certified sport it still meant a lot to me my friends and my teammates as we were representing our school. There was lots and lots of cheating so that’s what I mean by he could use his voice because of course, he knew the cheating was going on. We were having a ball playing battle ball for the whole day but all I’m saying is that his actions, and the refs actions clearly would’ve hurt lots of people. Don’t even get me started on all the physical contact that was going on through out the whole thing because they were rough. Battle ball is a non physical sport meaning your not supposed to push kick or punch anyone but st be des they did all that."
"This is a wonderful community minded primary school with high standards and excellent support. My son has been very well looked after and cared for from prep to grade six."
"Was on the Tram today and a number ostudent's were seated when elderly (like myself) were standing. The teacher (male) was quite aware of the situation but did nothing, seemed to be more interested in his conversation. Even after eye contact was made and he looked straight at the student.....nothing. The only reason you got 1 star is because system will not allow zero"
