As we celebrate the arrival of spring, we are excited to shine a spotlight on Australia's incredible native animals and plants, particularly those that are endangered. Throughout the month of September, we will be engaging our students in various activities and educational programs to raise awareness and appreciation for our unique wildlife.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we are thrilled to share the success of the new weekly food and garden bin service in Knox. Our residents have already made a significant impact by halving the amount of rubbish going to landfill and diverting a staggering 1900 tonnes of food scraps and other organics to be transformed into compost. This initiative not only benefits the environment but also teaches our children valuable lessons about waste reduction and responsible consumption.

Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that Windermere Reserve Preschool will be hosting the Women on the Go annual business networking event on September 14th. This event offers a fantastic opportunity for professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and support each other in their endeavors. Tickets for this event are now available for purchase, and we encourage all interested individuals to join us for an inspiring and empowering evening.

As we strive to create a more sustainable future, we are proud to share the story of a Ferntree Gully family of seven who have embraced the weekly food and garden service. By making small changes in their daily routines, they have played a vital role in reducing waste and contributing to the composting efforts of Knox City Council. This story is a testament to the power of individual actions and the positive impact they can have on our environment.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians of the City of Knox, the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We are grateful for their ongoing connection to the land and their rich cultural heritage, which continues to shape our community.
