Welcome to Wimba Primary School, a brand new establishment located in Tarneit, Australia. Scheduled to open its doors on day one of Term 1 in 2024, Wimba Primary School will be able to accommodate up to 525 students once the first stage of the school is complete. We are excited to enroll students from Prep to Grade 6, providing them with a nurturing and enriching learning environment. We are proud to share that Wimba Primary School has received a portion of the $527.233 million allocated for new schools in the 2022–23 State Budget. This funding will contribute to the development of our state-of-the-art facilities and resources, ensuring an exceptional educational experience for our students.

The name "Wimba" was chosen for our school following a two-week community consultation. Derived from the Bunurong language, Wimba translates to "white wallaby." This name reflects our commitment to embracing the local culture and heritage.

Leading the way at Wimba Primary School is our esteemed principal, Paul Schwartz. With 20 years of teaching experience in various schools across the western suburbs, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our institution. As the former principal of Wedge Park Primary School for the past 8 years, Paul is dedicated to empowering every child to achieve success on a daily basis. He is passionate about equipping students with strong literacy and numeracy skills to unlock endless possibilities for their future.

Our students will enjoy modern learning areas equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for their academic journey. Additionally, outdoor spaces are designed with shade sails to provide sun protection. At Wimba Primary School, we prioritize environmental sustainability and ease of management, ensuring a sustainable and efficient educational institution.

To accommodate future growth, we have meticulously planned for the expansion of our school. This includes the addition of a new learning neighborhood and more learning resource spaces, guaranteeing that our institution remains at the forefront of educational excellence.

Respecting the local Indigenous heritage, we have engaged in extensive consultation with the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation to ensure the design of our new school aligns with their endorsement. This collaboration ensures that Wimba Primary School is a place that celebrates cultural diversity and inclusivity.

In addition to our primary school, we are delighted to announce the establishment of Wimba Primary School Kindergarten. By having the kindergarten and school co-located, we aim to facilitate a smooth transition for local children entering primary school and simplify drop-off arrangements for families.

Situated in the heart of Tarneit, our school enjoys a prime location with three surrounding roads. Voyager Boulevard lies at the bottom of our site plan, Tuition Drive is to the right, and Odyssey Boulevard is located at the top.
