About the Business

Wyreena Playspace

Welcome to Wyreena Playspace, located in Croydon, Australia. Situated at 2 Worrall Street, this establishment is a point of interest that offers a unique experience for children and families.

Wyreena Playspace is part of the popular Wyreena Reserve in Croydon, which also includes the Wyreena Community Arts Centre and the Conservatory cafe. This reserve is a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a range of attractions and amenities.

The Playspace itself is a children's wonderland, designed to stimulate their senses through texture, light, and color. It caters to children aged 12 and under, providing a mix of natural elements, artistic and creative spaces, and traditional playground structures. The interactive music objects within the Playspace were created by renowned sound sculptor, Herbert Jercher, while the public art pieces were designed by artist James Cattell.

Surrounding the Playspace, you'll find park benches, tables, and access to a public toilet, ensuring convenience and comfort for visitors. Additionally, the Playspace is conveniently located alongside the Conservatory Cafe, allowing families to enjoy a meal or refreshments while their children play.

Please note that between June and September 2023, all outdoor furniture at Wyreena will be replaced. This is due to the existing furniture being damaged and no longer fit for purpose. For more information on this exciting project, please visit our project page.

We also encourage you to stay in touch with everything that is happening at Council and around our community. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land now known as the City of Maroondah. We respect their unique ability to care for Country and their deep spiritual connection to it, and we pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present.

Come and explore Wyreena Playspace, where children can let their imaginations run wild and create lasting memories.

"Nice play ground with newer equipment. Mostly for kids 2 years+ though. Equipment is spread out well and gives kids good space to run. Also a nice cafe in the vicinity."

"Great playground. Son (5yo) loved it! Cafe on site (yay!). Lots of seats & picnic tables. Good play equipment for all ages. Parking is on site and good but would be busy on a nice day. 4 swings (1 mum & bub, 2 toddler & 1 flat). 4 slides (1 big tubular, 2 medium wavy & 1 toddler). Lots of little things to explore. Big metal ball to climb on & into. Big trees around. Toilets on site. But right beside a noisy road and very popular even on a weekday."

"This is a great small park, off the street. There is parking by the arts centre. Kids of all ages can enjoy this park. There are hidden things for the kids to find (will need to list them for you next time we are there). Its an open area (no kid fence) so watch they don't wonder off."
