About the Business
Welcome to Pink Water Taxis, a premier establishment and point of interest located at Church Point, Pittwater Road in Australia. Our institution offers convenient and reliable transportation services via water taxis to various destinations in the area.
Please note that if our mobile is not answered, we kindly request you to wait five minutes before trying again, as our drivers may be berthing the vessel or assisting passengers. In case of any technical issues with our voice system, we have text messages as a fallback communication method. However, during busy periods, texts may not be processed immediately due to driver availability.
Our last calls and pickups from Church Point occur at 8:45pm, so please plan your travel accordingly. Our drivers are required to take meal and refreshment breaks, but they will return missed calls whenever possible.
For your convenience, we offer cartage services at affordable rates. Carry-on bags and smaller items are charged at $1 each, while larger items such as suitcases, eskies, and toolboxes are charged at $5 each.
Excess baggage may impact the number of passengers we can accommodate on our vessels. Therefore, we cannot fulfill requests for additional trips solely for moving excess baggage. However, we can provide recommendations for appropriate punt or barge services to assist with cargo transportation. If our driver agrees to transport cargo or excess baggage, charter rates will apply, and we will provide an estimate at the time of loading.
To promote cost-sharing, we offer fare splits for passengers with the same pickup and destination. However, for taxis carrying multiple fares to different locations, each party will be charged for their respective destinations.
Please note that we primarily accept cash payments, and exact fare is required as we do not provide change.
It's important to highlight that Pink Water Taxis is not a tender service, and our boats are not fendered to protect other vessels. Therefore, masters engage our services at their own risk.
If you are planning to visit Scotland Island, please be aware that it is entirely residential, with no shops or public toilets available. However, the Community Vehicle can drive down the edge of the Cargo Wharf, which may be advantageous for passengers with heavy bags or mobility issues. Access to major wharves on the island is generally affected only by strong winds and sea state. However, certain waterfront properties with private wharves may have limited access due to tides.
The Bays, situated on the western foreshores of Pittwater, offer picturesque views of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. These areas are accessible only by water transportation, and public wharves are available at South Elvina, North Elvina, Lovett Bay, Woody Point (Halls), Morning Bay, and Towlers Bay.
If you are planning to visit the Pittwater YHA, the normal access route is via Halls Wharf, followed by a scenic 10-minute walk along a bush track. Alternatively, you can reach the YHA from Morning Bay Wharf, which is a shorter walk but features a steeper track.
The Douglass Estate, located on the western foreshores of McCarr's Creek, offers waterfront properties that back onto the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. These properties are accessible only by private boat or water taxi, as there are no public wharves available. Please note the presence of the Calabash Estate, a small parcel within the Douglass Estate.
The offshore communities in the area are supported by various public wharves and marinas, which house restaurants and social venues for residents and visitors alike. Some popular establishments near Church Point include Waterfront Cafe & General Store, Pasadena Sydney, and the Marina Cafe. In Newport, you can find the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, and The Newport pub.
For those traveling to Palm Beach, the Palm Beach Ferry Wharf serves as a transport hub for northern Pittwater and provides connections across Broken Bay to the Central Coast. The Palm Beach Water Taxi and Palm Beach Ferry Service operate in this area, offering convenient transportation options. In the event that local services at Palm Beach are not operational, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Our office is located approximately 160m north of the Church Point Ferry Wharf, right in the heart of Sydney's beautiful Pittwater. While Church Point is an ideal boarding location, we are more than willing to pick up passengers from any safe and accessible location. Just give us a call, and we'll be there to assist you.
Please note that bad weather conditions can significantly affect transportation services for the offshore communities. Storms may lead to service suspensions or complete shutdowns. Additionally, wind and sea state can make travel to certain destinations unsafe, and our vessel Masters may choose to wait until the weather passes before continuing services.
At Pink Water Taxis, we prioritize your safety, comfort, and convenience. Whether you're exploring the stunning Pittwater or visiting the charming communities in the area, our reliable water taxis are here to provide you with a seamless and enjoyable transportation experience.
Reviews
"We used Pink water taxi for multiple trips between Scotland island, Church pt Wharf, and Taylors wharf. We found the drivers friendly and very accommodating. It is a little bit expensive but we do like convenience and reliability of this taxi service. we will use this service again next time we visit."
"The pink taxi driver was very unpleasant and rude. We were informed that dogs were able to be transported however he wouldn’t allow our dog on (this caused a lot of stress and we have to do some rearranging of plans) We were quoted $60 for our trip however he charged $92. If you can I suggest avoiding pink taxis!"
"Mostly good service. Important to know it is a joint venture and the drivers are independent business owners. I mostly love the service! 95% of the time there is no problem with the service but like the other comments here suggest, I have also been let down on one occasion which was very stressful with international guests who were left scratching their heads and having to get a neighbour up in the middle of the night to help us out, even after trying 3 times with 7, 5, 3 hours notice to pre book our return ride out to the bays (according to instructions from one of the very good and reliable drivers who let us know to pre book with the less service minded colleague). Knowing this I recommend you think ahead to Fridays and Saturdays and adjust your plans according to the pink water web roster."
"The pink water taxis consist of 3 drivers who each own their own taxi. 2 drivers are great, one driver Alex is rude, unreliable and non service minded. If you planning on using this service make sure who is on duty because if it is Alex don't be surprised if he never turns up."
"My experience has always been good. I feel they provide an invaluable service. Friendly, even in difficult circumstances. Best to give them a bit of notice especially in peak times. If they don't answer, they may be helping someone into the taxi. Thumbs up from me."
