"Food was delicious, we had the noodle soup with beef brisket and fish balls. Soup has great flavour and brisket was tender and melt in mouth. Very clean environment and tidy. Was getting busier as we were there before lunch. Also had the spaghetti with black pepper chicken . Servings are healthy and price is reasonable. Will need to come back to try the other dishes on the menu."

"Clean and spacious restaurant compared to the other branches. Food has to be ordered by scanning the barcode on the table and to be paid at the counter. A wide variety of food choices from rice to noodles to sweets. The black bean beef with bitter gourd on rice noodle was good but a tat salty. Would recommend this restaurant and definitely be back again."

"Desert house was a classic Hong Kong style eatery back in the day (15 years ago ) which started off in Chinatown. They have failed to carry over the formula to their newest branch which opened on 26/1/23 and my experience with them had nothing been utter disappointment. 1. The food: The salt and pepper chicken on rice was 3/10. Disproportionate amount of salt and pepper with chicken. No soy sauce in the rice itself. They have deviated from the original formula from mid 2000s to make it completely taste like something else from another eatery. Flavour was also disappointing. 2. The price: $18 for the dish. The most expensive salt and pepper chicken on rice I have paid for ever. It was infuriating knowing it costed tis much and the dish tasted that bad. Having a look at other items, a baked pork chop rice is $19. No thanks! 0/10 for price. 3. Wait times: Went Saturday evening after opening day and the wait was 30 minutes. Totally unacceptable for a Hong Kong style eatery. It’s all about SPEED, SPEED, SPEED. 0/10. Will I ever go again? Hell no!"

"Excited that there's another Hong Kong style cafe in the area but the food wasn't as good as others I've been to in Box Hill and even Bayswater. I had fried chicken, beef fried kway teow, seafood fried rice and baked pork chop in tomato sauce. All were fairly average unfortunately, although the seafood fried rice was probably the best dish but slightly oily. Hopefully they are just finding their feet and will get better in the next few weeks. I'll come back in a few months to try some of their other dishes."

"Food is great and this restaurant is very famous for their Hong Kong style dishes. I recommended their xo fried rice and also their lemon grass pork chop on rice ( you can order the chicken variety if you want) This place is legendary as it has existed for a long time. I frequented this place back in uni days and never disappointed Why the 4 stars? Well I guess pricing is quite steep, I'm not sure if I can afford to frequent this area but I guess on special occasions it's ok. However if you are lover hk style dishes I strongly recommend to try this at least once."
