"Sunday 21st June at 14:30. So, I was standing in front of the cashier wanting to pay my items but completely ignored by this lady and instead she invited the lady who just came out off the change room ro be served. I stood there patiently hoping she’d invited me and pay my items. No she didn’t. Instead she look around looking busy then turn around and folded two unpurchased items before went away. The nice and polite Asian looking lady who was in the middle of assisting another customer as they weee just waiting for another item to be brought out then asked to come forward and processed my purchase within 7 second! If the manager reads this and watch the footage, you will need to educate the other lady of a better customer service and tell her the customer is actually paying her wage"

"I've now twice shopped here and been told that an item I was after was excluded from a sale discount because of undefined ***reasons*** that weren't specified on the promotional material. Especially with their prices as high as they are, 15-20% off is often the difference between me buying and not buying. So instead I get stuck into an awkward situation where I have to challenge the cashier on the price they've rung up, Karen-like point out the wording/exclusions listed in their promotion, and then have to back-down from a purchase when they don't do the honorable customer service thing of acknowledging the discount anyway."

"Firstly, it's very difficult to find any staff member interested enough to offer any assistance. I was looking at getting a breville toastie maker. It had a sign next to it saying $99. There were none on the shelves, I found someone to assist (eventually) and she had a look out the back. Finding none, she said I could buy the one on display, no box or instructions. I asked how much off, she said $10 off, and it would be $99. I pointed out that the sign already said it was $99, she just said the sign was wrong. Even so, $10 off a display item minus instructions and packaging is not a good offer! I left it behind. I ended up getting some mimco earrings. I paid, then standing at the counter asked the person who served me how to get the security packaging off. She tried, said she didn't know, then said I'd be able to do it at home. I disagreed and stayed at the counter trying to get them off for a few minutes. She had no interest in assisting. Turns out I was holding up the queue. She eventually went and spoke to another staff member and turns out it was a security lock! So I couldn't just do it at home. I don't live nearby and I would have been furious had I left and arrived home only to find I needed to return to get the security tags unlocked! No apology, still disinterested. I'm just shocked by the lack of respect and interest and unprofessionalism of the staff. The only reason I was in the store was because I had been given a gift card. I can safely say I will never shop at David Jones again. Overpriced and very lacking in customer service."

"Didn't feel like I was welcome when I asked where the fitting rooms are at 6.50pm on a Thursday night. The response? "We're closing in 10 minutes". Then when I was about to pay for about $300 in jeans (with an easy 5 mins to spare before closing time) I got told to go to another cash register. Thankfully another store person recognised that the situation wouldn't be the best treatment of a customer and walked me to another register. Definitely didn't get the service I would expect from a store that positions itself at the premium end of the market. Here's a photo of a typical change room too. Dust bunnies, hair and rubbish all over the floors. It wasn't a nice place to try clothes on."
