At Excelsia College, we have a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about music education. Meet Christine, our Music Program Director, Lecturer, and Research Supervisor. With over two decades of experience, Christine began her career as a secondary school music teacher in 1994 and transitioned into tertiary teaching in 1999. She has taught at prestigious institutions such as the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Australian Catholic University before joining Excelsia College in 2019.
Christine's expertise lies in teaching units in Contemporary and Early Music History, Small Ensemble Studies (Vocal and Chamber), Harmony and Formation III, as well as Masters units in Music Pedagogy, Research Methods, and Research Project. She employs scholarship in her teaching practice, using the results to enhance student learning. Currently, Christine is collaborating with Dr. Latukefu on a research project that explores musicians' career trajectories in relation to knowledge, skill, and identity formation. The findings of their research are being shared globally, making a significant impact on pedagogy and curriculum development at Excelsia College.

"I have never seen such mismanagement and unprofessional staff in Australia. Teachers here are so biased and partial which can be seen directly in their grading system. No proper system of Marking criteria and Management seems to fail students intentionally with no system of evaluation or complementary. And placement for Social work which the most crucial and important part for a student of Social work, instead of providing student the proper workplace place, they are misguided and forced student to do online placement. I have never seen a college offering their students an so called online placement."
