With over 300 parks and reserves in both urban and rural environments, The Hills Shire is known for its abundance of outdoor spaces. At Twickenham Avenue Reserve, you'll find excellent barbecue areas, children's playgrounds, bushland walking trails, and beautiful formal gardens. These wide-open spaces are perfect for social gatherings, formal events, or simply taking time out to relax.
Please note that there may be times when Council will close or restrict access to our parks and reserves. These closures can happen at short notice for various reasons, so it's always a good idea to check before your visit.
It's important to mention that our BBQ and picnic areas cannot be booked or reserved, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. So make sure to arrive early to secure your spot.
In addition to Twickenham Avenue Reserve, there are other nearby attractions worth exploring. Aberdoon House in Clower Avenue, Rouse Hill, and the local playground at Amphitheatre Circuit, Baulkham Hills, are just a few examples.
For skate enthusiasts, The Hills Shire offers a diverse range of skate facilities suitable for skaters of all levels. So bring your skateboard or rollerblades and have a blast!
If you're interested in exploring the history of the area, don't miss the Historical Arthur Whitling Park, which serves as an attractive green entrance to the Sydney Metro Northwest Castle Hill Station. This park is not only a recreational reserve but also a heritage site.

"Great park with a bike track for the littles with road signs and petrol pump, a few swings, slide, what I like to call the "flying fox swings" and table and chairs. No bathrooms, limited shade and the key missing element in my opinion is an infant bucket seat swing."

"Great park, 3 seat rotary swing with zip line style seats, under cover double set fixed table chairs, dual slides play set, 3 normal swings with basket swing. Huge open space with views of mountains as it is on a high point. Small balance bike bike track and slightly bigger one next to it with signs and petrol station play set. Large space to throw ball for dog. Note dogs not allowed in play area. No set parking but can park around whole surroundings of park. Water fountain for people and dogs and fixed place bins. Great overall park."
"Great local park in North Kellyville. Plenty of open space for the kids and pets to run around. Love how they have a small bike track with road signs so the kids feel like theyre "driving around". There's also a bubbler there for us and pets."
"Sits on top of a hill so it gets quite windy and cold- esp for Winter. No car park facilities yet. No bbq facilities either. Nice bike track for kids. No toilets either."
