Clareville Mini-Market

"I occasionally pop in usually for milk when I run out. Don’t trust most other things there as they are usually covered in dust and don’t know how long it’s been there. The lady is quite friendly and never had issues with her but the man is just always angry and zero help. Today I was waiting to pay for my milk and a little girl wanted to buy a bag of skittles. She put all her change on the counter and the man just kept aggressively tapping the full display that said $5.00. That in itself is a rip off but for a small shop not surprising there is a high mark up. The little girl looked scared and didn’t really know maths well yet so was obviously relying on him to count it and be honest. He just kept aggressively tapping the $5.00 display and not saying anything to her. I told the girl that he is saying it’s $5.00 and she counted out an additional $3.00 on top of $2.00 that I could see was already in front of him. He then kept tapping the $5.00 sign so I asked him what more he wants as he has the money. He then tried to count more from her pile of change and take it. I had to step in and point out that she gave him enough and told her she could take her change back and she was all good to go. He was obviously very angry that I caught him out but don’t think he was willing to challenge me. Won’t be going back there anymore."

"This small business includes great delicious things when it comes to lollies although several other stuff including milk, ice cream, drinks and pet food. There are 2 workers who work, own and run this shop. My aunty purchased an ice cream as she lives down the road and it was a hot day, as she walked out of the store she unwrapped her ice cream and it was melted and mouldy, which in its self is an issue. My aunty then walked back into the shop to ask for a refund (as you would) and one of the workers (the man) didn't refund her and then pushed her out of the store (literally pushed her out). Then more recently my mum and I went to get some lollies for a movie night from the mini markets and as we asked for the price he spat at us while telling us the cost of these lollies (which are highly over priced and he charges more then they say they cost) then after paying the man through us our change (again literally through it). The lady is kind and doesn't over charge you nor pushes you out of the store, doesn't give you refunds and doesn't throw money at you, although she is very demanding and over whelming. Although usually I like to support small businesses, this one is appalling and not great to have in the community."
