I was a carpenter and so know what I'm looking for, and the pine and tassie oak I looked at and bought at Barrenjoey was really great; few knots, bends, warps, shakes and twists. The guys there are friendly and approachable, and pricing is clear and keen. I'm actually a lot closer to Swadlings, but I never got clear pricing out of them and what little I did get out of them was 1.5-2x that of Barrenjoey (I think they were just taking the mick because I'm not a tradie). If you're an amateur looking to knock up a dining table or something, skip Bunnings and go to Barrenjoey."
