"I came into this barber shop around a month ago and have been meaning to leave this review. I’m not from around this area however I searched and read good reviews about this place which were true. A barber by the name of Aly cut my hair and words cannot fathom how touched, impressed and satisfied I felt when leaving the shop. My grandfather had just passed away at the time and I was quite emotional. Aly empathised with me and made me feel comfortable. His empathy went a long way and it was very touching. I will come into the shop one day to give this barber man a gift - thank you Aly for your service. An exceptional well done job on my haircut at the time."

"I would like to preface this review by saying that the 1 star I am giving is because of my interaction with a single staff member and does not necessarily reflect negatively on the rest of the staff, the business in general, or the services that they provide. Before coming into Fleet St Barbers Northcote I called ahead to ask whether I needed to book, and also to see how busy the store was. The person who spoke to me on the phone (who I later determined to be Ali) was so rude that I almost didn't bother turning up. I decided to go ahead anyway. On my arrival, I was met with such an abrupt and overtly rude interaction with Ali that I was stunned. I sat down to wait for my haircut but decided that I didn't want to run the risk of him being the barber who cut my hair. So, I got up, walked out, and got my hair cut down the road at Barbers of Northcote. When I spoke to a friend who has also been to Fleet St Barbers Northcote I found out that he had had similar experiences with Ali. I think that Ali needs a serious attitude adjustment to assure he doesn't turn away more prospective customers. I was looking for a new barber as my old one closed, and now, thanks to this experience, I will be a regular at Barbers of Northcote, not Fleet St Barbers Northcote."

"Came for a haircut and close shave, and was unfortunately quite disappointed. I paid $55 for haircut and beard shave but was left with an intense rash of white inflamed dots across my neck and face which has continued to worsen. In addition, I have thick curly hair which was treated and cut as if it was straight, meaning it was cut way too short and also uneven. I would look elsewhere if you have curly hair, and definitely if you're getting your beard looked after"

"Don't waste your money. There is a better barber literally across the street. Barber was rough, blades were dull. I wasn't offered any refreshments and the cut I received looks like a blind guy went at me with a whipper snipper."
