Melton Family Vets

"I have used Melton Family Vet to have my dogs nails clipped today. My big boy is normally very anxious, and does not handle being around strangers at all. I called the vet and spoke to Robbi, who worked out a contingency plan for me to ensure there would be no other dogs when we walked in etc etc. Robbi was kind enough to come out to the car when they were ready for Thunder. When we walked into the clinic it was a calm, very clean environment. Thunder behaved like going to the vet was his favourite thing to do in the world. The vets and assistants had Thunder under sedation with minimum fuss, we even managed to get a muzzle on him. Within a couple of minutes Thunder was sedated and taken to the clinical area where we left him for a couple of hours. Thunders nails were so incredibly long due to former stressful events, but the team did not make me feel guilty at all about this. When I picked Thunder up I nearly cried. I have not seen a vet be able to get his nails that short before, I’ve always been told by previous vets they could only take a couple of millimeters off, and to come back in 6 weeks, which is a $300-$400 procedure due to his size. It is also a significant risk to my dog due to his age. I have zero hesitation in recommending this vet, and we will be regular visitors. My pet urgenlt needed 6 pills just to last for 1.5 days until seen by specialist as recommended by current vet who didnt have enough pills. Person on phone was very rude.
