The Bond - Mascot Central by Meriton Leasing Office

"We rented a 3 bed 2 bath 2 car apartment on level 6 for almost 2 years. From the middle of covid lockdown in 2021 to mid 2023. Meriton apartments are excellent because of the sound deadening they put between the walls meaning you barely ever hear your neighbours, and they’re really well set up with quality appliances. ‘Everything just kinda works’ if that makes sense. Car parking is great but every now and then someone will park in your spot. Security will put a notice on their car though so it rarely happens twice. And one time security were able to follow the person who illegally parked in our spot on the CCTV to see which apartment they went into. A quick chat and 5 minutes later, car moved, yay. The handyman will fix or replace anything or they’ll get a tradie in if it’s something more complicated. Very quick service there. We had a light switch stop working and it was fixed within a few days. The handyman is also available for advice or assistance if you need. Having a handyman on staff is such a great thing. Better than having some random turn up to fix something. I forget his name, but he was a really knowledgeable and engaging young man. Thumbs up to him. The main reason for this review however is for the current building manager, Marnie Mahmic. Marnie is an excellent communicator and will reply to emails and texts and doesn’t leave you open and unread for days, which has happened in the past. When we were moving out we got her advice for cleaners and other logistics and she was spot on. Trust me, use the Meriton suggested cleaners. They guaranteed a full bond refund and they are very reasonably priced. We had wall mounted TV’s which had obviously damaged the walls in our unit, but we left the damage and just let Meriton fix it and deduct the repairs from our bond. I fully recommend this course of action. By the time you buy plaster and paint and try to do it yourself, assuming you do it properly, you’ll still spend more than just letting Meriton do it. And at least if they repair it, it’s to their standard and they won’t need to do it again because you thought you could do it by watching a couple of YouTube videos and having a go yourself. Marnie has also been proactively addressing issues within the building, like people leaving rubbish behind or whatever, and has been issuing breach notices. AND communicating to all the residents that notices have been issued. In a short space of time Marnie has really turned the place around. Marnie is a credit to the Meriton group and I wish her well into the future. In fact, our experience with Marnie and Meriton was so good, we actually went ahead and bought one. "Great place to stay and very convenient, just don't try to park your car there the unit numbers are not cohesive and there is no order. It took us at least 30minutes to find our designated parking spot and with the visitors car parking it looks like most tennants have 2 cars and use the visitors car park."

"Still dont get why Temporarily Closed coz of covid matter but still open for private inspection ( so money wins over covid ). Here is another thing, we must wear mask before enter but all 3 staffs didnt wear mask, so why bother ? Very slow respond to emails, call never pick up, always goes to voice mail so what are you all doing at work ?"

All of the building managers are extremely friendly, and responsive. Of particular mention is Alex who is a delight to deal with and has such a wonderful disposition for customer service. He is very responsive to our needs; nothing is too small or inconvenient for him and he always provides service with grace and style.Our storage space had not been cleared when we moved in; Alex set about arranging this immediately without fuss; a leaky window during a heavy rain storm, fixed in record time; a forgotten key card in the apartment ; we had access almost immediately after a brief conversation in the office . It a pleasure to see him walking about the Mascot Central precinct, as we always receive a wave and a friendly greeting, our little dog gets a big welcome too. We have established an excellent rapport and relationship with Alex and will be very disappointed and sad to see him go. We hope he'll return as soon as possible, as we have full confidence that our needs and our apartment are in excellent hands with Alex at the helm. We have nothing but praise for Meriton mainly because of our positive experience through our manager Alex."
