If your pet has received a referral for a specialist service or surgery, our team of specialists and consultants can be booked for an appointment. While we are an emergency vet hospital, we work closely with your pet's local vet to develop a coordinated and considered approach to their care.
During your visit to ARH Homebush, our experienced emergency and critical care vet will triage cases based on their level of emergency. You will be asked to fill in vet hospital paperwork and provide information about yourself and your pet. Our vet will discuss your pet's history and outline the treatment options and approximate costs for procedures.
If your pet is admitted for treatment, you will be asked to sign a consent form and provide a minimum deposit of 50% of the estimated costs. Throughout your pet's stay and treatment, our Homebush emergency vet will keep in touch with you. Following emergency treatment, your pet will typically return to your regular vet for ongoing care. If further treatment by a specialist or consultant is necessary, our vet hospital will work closely with you and your vet to ensure a coordinated approach.
For veterinarians, we have a dedicated section providing easy access to our online referral form, case feedback form, and ARH education center. For owners, we have a section specifically designed to make your visit as stress-free as possible. You can find information about visiting hours, seeing a specialist, hospital stays, and payment and insurance.

"We visited ARH Homebush after our puppy swallowed some foreign objects, we were very very concerned for what this could've done as she's still very little. When we got there, we were assisted by Nurse Bernie who was so friendly and professional and Dr Sarah who was very courteous and supportive about the situation. We were informed about the possible treatments and different outcomes and didn't feel pressured at all about options. We could tell they were genuinely interested in Korra's well-being and wanted to make sure we understood everything. Thankfully they were able to extract the object without any harm to Korra and she recovered swiftly. Its like nothing ever happened. We're very thankful for Dr Sarah and the team at ARH."
"Our English staffy went in to ARH and they were incredibly fast to find he needed life saving surgery following a foreign body obstruction. They saved our boy, gave him the best optimal care and were very transparent with us. Our boy seemed so comfortable with all his vets, tail wagging and kissing all his doctors.. ignoring his own owners at visit! Truely greatful for this service, price was incredibly high but for the quality of care, I can appreciate why it’s marked at that cost. Overall greatful to their staff and surgeons. Biggie thanks you all too !"
"My partner and I took our 9 week old puppy here on Wednesday night after he took a turn for the worse. At first, we were relieved to find a vet open at an ungodly hour of the night. However, the feeling of relief didn’t last long. Once speaking with the vet who assessed our puppy we were left feeling extremely apprehensive, unsure, and anxious. The vet wasn’t able to provide us with any certainty on our puppies symptoms and why he was the way he was. The vets answers were ‘maybe’ and ‘I’m not sure’. The vet suggested we leave our puppy over night, however, no examination would be done until the following morning. Pointless, right? Especially for a 24-hour emergency vet / hospital. We are now at another vet and they’re extremely baffled by the quality of care. The current vet assessing our puppy blatantly asked ‘why has no one x-rayed this dog?’. Our puppy is now being admitted, will undergo surgery and will be under strict supervision till Tuesday. Highly do not recommend. Terrible. Disappointing. Incapable."
"I had an emergency vet visit on Christmas Day. My elderly 16 year old cat Mishka had something lodged deep in her mouth and was in a lot of pain. She had to be sedated to have it removed and stayed at the hospital for a few hours. The receptionists were excellent, professional multitaskers juggling a huge workload with a smile. The veterinary nurse who first examined Mishka was fantastic, followed by the vet Dr Jun. I am so grateful that this practice exists, that staff were working on their Christmas Day. Everything was handled so smoothly despite me being in a panic. I can’t imagine what the staff here see on a daily basis, but thank you for what you do, and to anyone with a pet emergency, this clinic is a gem."
"Our boy Toby had swallowed a foreign object that obstructed his digestive tract. He went under surgery at his regular vet but was then referred to ARH Homebush for 24 hour aftercare given that we were overseas. Toby's regular vet team recommended and in their own words "trust" ARH to provide the quality care he very much needed. Well it is clear now why they came recommended. The admin team liaised with a combination of me directly whilst overseas, my parents who were looking after Toby and my friend who helped my parents as they were quite stressed also and they did this with a lot of patience and understanding. We received updates from the vet team daily on his progress and when my parents visited him, they could tell he was being very well cared for. We would really like to express our deepest gratitude to the ARH team for not only taking care of our beloved Toby, but also minimizing the level of stress and worry during the situation through their regular communication. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts."
