Hotel Esplanade

"I recently had an amazing experience at The Espy in St Kilda. This historic hotel turned multi-level hub of bars and restaurants was a true delight. The highlight for me was the Louey's tomato and burrata pizza, bursting with flavour. The staff's thoughtful gesture of taking us to "The Ghost" baf when the kitchen closed added an extra touch to the evening. One standout was the L'Absinthe, a champagne cocktail that artfully combined the delicate notes of pear and sparkling wine with the intriguing herbal accents of anise and basil. Even though coffee wasn't on the menu, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my request, which truly added to the magical experience. The breathtaking view of St Kilda's beach from The Espy was delightful. My absolute favourite part was undoubtedly the Ghost bar, which exuded a unique and captivating ambiance. Overall, I can confidently rate my visit a perfect 5/5. The combination of delectable food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable atmosphere, especially the Ghost bar, made it a memorable and extraordinary outing."

"The St Kilda Espy has always been a melting pot of Melbourne cultures, and this has never been more clearly displayed than since the renovations/ restorations to update facilities and capture the personality of this historic old building. I love the diversity of places WITHIN this venue- you can grab a delicious pub meal, watch sports and down a beer in the public bar, eat Asian cuisine in the Vietnamese restaurant, or step back in time on the top level " Ghost of Alfred Fenton" cocktail lounge & bar. So many rooms and bars to choose from at the Espy- each with such a distinctive mood, decor and menu. Get there by climbing the old staircase or travelling up the old style glass elevator."

"Cute little pub opposite St Kilda beach/water of some sort (I'm not from Melbourne). Food choices were a little on the weak side but every meal we ordered looked great and was well received. Great portion sizes. Live music playing today (17/06) was absolutely perfect, we only wished we didn't have to head back to work as our whole group wanted to stay all afternoon. Very aesthetic looking venue."

"Great place. Staff were fantastic I went to see a live band. I needed assistance, I have a disability. They were fantastic in accommodating me. It is great to know that this establishment will help anybody with a disability be part of this great venue."

"The lobster roll was delicious and the seaside spritz was the perfect summer drink. They move you to a table outside at the end of your booking period but it was a bit of a nightmare to manage the move with security getting angry at us for standing where the server asked us to stand and wait. If you can avoid talking to security then you’ll have a gorgeous day - very easily done if you stay out of their way."
