Melbourne Metropole Central

"We recently stayed in room 220. It was poorly maintained and cleaned. In the bathroom the shower recess was grimy and mouldy, the washing machine leaked across the bathroom doorway and was a slip hazard, the ceiling around the light fitting was cracked and the exhaust fan did not work ( in a windowless bathroom). In the kitchen the vegetable compartment in the fridge still had old bits of vegetables from the last occupant, the dish washer had not worked for so long that it was labelled as such and the crockery was so mismatched and old it felt like they had been sourced from a charity shop. The TV remote was unreliable. The gym is still closed due to covid. When I let the staff know they said they would notify the owners the next day which was our checkout day. The room was not of a standard where it should have been let out. There were other issues. I had booked many months before so it is not a matter of notice."

"I love this place, have been coming here for 20 years and stay for both business and private. It is one of the best locations in Melbourne and although I come from the country, this feels like my end of town, it feels like my city home. I would like to see an investment in refreshing the rooms at some point. There are minor maintenance requirements becoming apparent. E.g., windows facing the central air conditioning etc need a good clean, curtains need to be reset, close properly, a very noisy old fridge in my room this week, and a remote control hanging off the wall by one screw. None of this will stop me visiting the Metropole and it is my location of choice when in Melbourne."

"First time to stay at Melbourne Metropole Central. Our Studio room was very clean and with comfortable bedding. The very roomy kitchenette lounge area seperate to the bedroom. The Concierge Staff were exceptionally helpful, Welcoming & friendly. Thank you in particular to Joseph. The location to our venue for the night was a perfect walk down the Cultural Brunswick Street. I would highly recommend this Hotel & not hesitate to stay again. The value & parking included made our stay a pleasant one indeed."

"The location of this hotel was perfect for us as we were in Melbourne solely to visit St Vincent's hospital. The staff were fantastic and helpful in any way they could be. The room was clean and very roomy with comfortable seating and bed. The staff were so good, just absolutely lovely!!"
