"My partner and I entered at 7pm on a Saturday night. The smoked salmon pasta and salmon fillet on the daily specials menu had sold out. We purchased the porterhouse and lamb salad. The lamb salad was just weird and covered in a vinaigrette. The steak was extremely over cooked and drenched in a sickly rich mushroom sauce. Unfortunately not a great experience. Service was pretty good though."
"Lunched at Rye Hotel twice this week. Just a well run family friendly pub. Today the lovely bar person was super supportive as I tried to stop my big brother paying for lunch. She had every moment under control and ensured we all had a fabulous family reunion. Just sorry I didn't ask her name. Thank you. A real gem!!"
"We stopped for lunch on Saturday of the long weekend for Easter. The staff were just friendly enough to not be called snarky. Several times when the table was cleared I said thank you and it wasn't even acknowledged with a smile or "no problem". The food was what I would describe as ordinary. There are about 12 menu items, including salads. Yet the parma still seemed like a frozen parma. Not what I expected for $30+ In my opinion this is a pub to be avoided."

"Have eaten there three times now and including a change of chefs. Each time had been a huge disappointment. Fish and chips is extremely dry flake, and calamari on both occasions was underwhelming with salads that were missing any tomato and the Asian salad being so small it was an absolute non-event and did nothing to enhance the dish. Doubt I would give them a fourth go."
