"I finally made it to Slow Roast in Athlone! Today I treated myself to a toasted sandwich for lunch and a flat white. Because it was cold outside I decided to sit on the bench by the counter, and while eating my delicious mushroom toastie I had a nice chat with Sarah and Conor, who run the cafe and are the hosts with the most! They are super friendly and you can clearly see they are passionate about what they do. An eye for detail and the strong branding are clearly priorities for this dynamic duo. The food is prepared with care and with the best local ingredients. Not only I enjoyed my sandwich but also THE CHATS! I'll definitely be back!"

"I visited Slow Roast in Athlone recently, having visited the Loughrea shop many times previously. I was pleasantly surprised that the store managed to match the friendly atmosphere of the original shop and the staff make a real effort to make the customer feel welcome. The sandwiches are to die for and the quality of the food they manage to produce so quickly simply cannot be matched. I can only give it 5 stars, but would give it more if I could!"

"Moreishly tasty sandwich and an equally tasty coffee. Great to see artisinal food locations find footing in the town. If I was to knit pick I'd love a pickle to go with it. But take nothing away, I'll definitely be returning."

"Have had their sandwiches a few times now. Simple menu yet so great. Best grilled cheese sandwiches in town. Have had their Hang and Cheese, Aragh Musha and Cheese Please all excellent sandwiches with the perfect amount of cheese and grilled until crispy each time."
