Welcome to Galway Film Centre, the thriving hub of the Irish film industry located in the heart of historic Galway, Ireland. Established in 1989, our institution is dedicated to the development and promotion of film culture in Galway and beyond. We are passionate about supporting filmmakers of all levels, genres, and backgrounds, as well as fostering creativity, innovation, and collaboration in the film community.
At our state-of-the-art premises, located at Cluain Mhuire on Monivea Road in Galway, we offer a range of resources and services for filmmakers, students, and film enthusiasts. Our facilities include a modern cinema, sound recording studio, editing suites, meeting and event rooms, and much more.
We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive range of training and educational opportunities for aspiring and emerging filmmakers. Our courses and workshops cover a broad range of topics, from screenwriting and directing to production and distribution. Our experienced tutors and guest speakers come from diverse backgrounds in the industry and bring a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience to the table.
As well as being a centre of learning, Galway Film Centre is also a hub for film production and exhibition. We are dedicated to promoting and supporting the work of Irish filmmakers, and our annual Galway Film Fleadh is a highlight of the Irish film calendar. This internationally-renowned festival showcases the best new and established talent in Irish and international cinema, and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
