"I asked this shop for a set of two wipers, located on Pearse Road, Ballyphehane, Cork. The assistant checked the registration number plate through the window which was clearly visible and I told him the make and model of the car. The assistant went to the car outside the shop and took the old ones off – I guessed he wanted to be sure of the size and returned back into the shop to check the size. No problems so far. Then, he went back out and put the new ones on without any instruction to do so and walked back into the shop. (I thought when he went out for the second time that he just wanted to see if they fitted — to be really sure). There is nothing unusual about that. He then charged me €28 for wipers and stated that other makes were only €15 because they were older models. Obviously he wanted to soften the blow. I was taken aback to say the least and will not be buying wipers there again. Further, there is hardly anything priced in the shop on a label. All I asked him for was a set of wipers, nothing else. The fitting of the wipers could have been a courtesy, but the unrevealed price until they were fitted was certainly not. However, I found them good on price for oil and filters on a previous visit to the shop. But as for the price of wipers and their approach to selling them, caution is advised."
