Reviews
"The views here are breathtaking. You can go inside or simply your the grounds on your own. There are carriage rides available, facilities, restaurant and gift shop on site as well. The walled gardens felt like a step into a child’s dream with beautiful pathways, flowers and trees. The house itself is huge and very well kept. You could spend an hour or 3 if you like. In any case you’d leave happy: parking is on site and is free."
"The grounds here are beautiful and really well maintained. The tress and grass areas are lush green We spent our time here on the outside and did not make it into the house. There are many paths to walk the grounds and down to the lake or to the many gardens and stunning views. The views down at the lake are stunning and great for photographers. There is also a fair amount of parking as well as a cafe and toilets."
"The shop is super. You can watch the pottery being made and there’s an excellent collection of gifts - clothes, books, sweets, trinkets, family crests, pottery, photographs, jewellery, tweeds, woollens… The toilets are usually clean. The cafe would be great but it stops serving hot food at 3pm. They could make a killing by extending that as the place is hiving until late during the summer months. The grounds are immaculate and the views are stunning. Car parking isn’t too bad. Well worth a stop off."
"Have stopped by here twice now when going through Killarney, and have loved it both times. Haven’t actually gone in the house on a tour, but the grounds are stunning and worth a visit themselves. Long walking and biking paths, and plenty of gardens to stroll through. The pristine views down at the lake are something of wonder. There is a fair amount of parking and a main tourist centre with restaurant and gift shop. It may feel a little touristy, but if you like beautiful natural views, I would highly recommend."
"The grounds are absolutely spectacular and really well maintained. The tulips are in full bloom and added to the spectacle set against the stone house and lush green grass. The fire escape especially built for the Queen is clearly visible. We spent time on the outside and did not venture into the house. There are many paths to walk , down to the lake or to the Garden centre where there are restrooms and a cafe. The gardens at the cafe are magnificent Parking is plentiful"
