"The website clearly indicates that the first departure is at 9:45am, 7 days a week from 1 March to 31st October. The sign at the kiosk clearly suggests the first boat is at 10am. Well at 10:45am on the 10th October there is no sign of anybody at the pier, kiosk is closed and the phone line status is "unavailable"."
"The ticket desk only accept cash. There are toilet facilities where they sell the tickets. The dock is a short walk towards the blue pool. I saw lots of seals resting on rocks on my way on the ferry towards Garnish island. The ferry back from the Garnish island is at a quarter to and a quarter past, with the last ferry at 16:45. Be ware that there are another ferry company ( the Harbour queen ) serving between Glengarriff and Garnish Island, so you don’t get on the wrong boat back!"
"Great afternoon out in Garnish Island .We travelled by Blue Pool Ferry. Very Busy. You must book before hand as they are very much in demand .Price reasonable . We saw Seals Eagles nest and lots of birds. Very nice Boat Driver."
"Wow! Been to Glengarrif so many times but never took this ferry to Garnish Island before. Don't know why l waited. Highly recommend."
"We had a short wait for the ferry at the beautiful Blue Pool on an unseasonably warm summer day. We didn't know you should buy tickets up at the Quill's store and saw a young man handing over some tickets to a group of ladies so we asked. He said he'd fetch them for us and started running up the hill to get them before the next boat arrived, which was above and beyond in our opinion! We started walking back up the trail to meet him and save him a few steps. Apparently you can also buy a ticket directly from the boat captain, but it got us going more quickly with everyone already having a ticket. The ride over to Garinish Island was very nice, and the captain got closer to rocks where seals were hanging out so we could get great photos. Please note that the cost of the boat ride does not include admission to the island. The boats leave the island every 30 minutes, so it's easy to hop on one for your return trip whenever you're ready to go."
