About the Business

Welcome to The Mauretania Bar - one of Cobh's most beloved institutions! Situated in the heart of Pearse Square, this charming establishment has been a popular spot for locals and tourists alike since it first opened its doors many years ago.

As soon as you walk through the doors of The Mauretania Bar, you'll be struck by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The space is adorned with classic wooden furnishings, cozy nooks and crannies, and beautiful artwork that celebrates the history and culture of Ireland. Whether you're popping in for a quick pint after work, or settling in for a leisurely evening with friends and family, you'll feel right at home in this cozy and welcoming space.

Of course, one of the main draws of The Mauretania Bar is its outstanding selection of drinks. From local craft beer to fine wines and spirits, this bar has something to suit every palate. And if you're in the mood for a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed by the delicious pub fare on offer - think hearty stews, delicious sandwiches, and classic Irish dishes prepared with love and care by the talented kitchen team.

But The Mauretania Bar isn't just a great spot for food and drink - it's also a point of interest in its own right. This bar has a rich history, having been a fixture of the Cobh community for many years. In fact, it's named after the RMS Mauretania, a famous ocean liner that was once a regular sight in Cobh's harbor. You'll find plenty of fascinating artifacts and mementos throughout the bar that pay homage to this proud history.

So whether you're a local looking for your new favorite hangout, or a visitor to Cobh looking to experience a classic Irish bar, The Mauretania Bar is the perfect spot. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, outstanding drinks and food, and rich history, it's a must-visit destination in this charming port town.

"Great, quiet neighborhood pub. Our bartender was great to talk with over a few pints and made us feel very welcome!"

"Great pub with all the Irish feel. We came only for some Murphy's, but were greated with warmth and treated like a local. Super atmosphere and great staff. Good live music and right on the waterfront where you can watch the cruise ships go by.. Definitely worth a visit."

"Best bar in Cobh. Cosy. Friendly and attentive staff and good pints. Right on the main street. Right across the road from the Titanic Experience on Casement Square. Live music on Cruise days"

"What a bar, and right in the centre of town. It was great in the arvo but super busy when we came back early evening. The Maury is obviously very popular with the local lads and lassies. As well as regular live music, they also put on a great show for us Aussie tourists when our cruise liner visited. The Irish Coffee was just perfect and the barman serving was super friendly."
