Liss Ard Estate

"My husband, dog and I recently stayed here and we loved the estate. The extensive walking trails, with mini waterfalls and tall trees, were amazing to explore with our dog (even in the rain!). We ate dinner there for all three nights we stayed - from the brasserie (a Monday and Tuesday) and the restaurant on a Wednesday. I really enjoyed the salad made from leaves grown in their walled garden, and the scallops starter from the restaurant was delicious! In terms of the wellness facilities, the lakeside sauna was so cozy, and I also had a deep tissue massage with Mark which left me incredibly relaxed. Great cocktails from the bar too (the spicy margherita was excellent!) Thanks for a wonderful stay."

"We got the best room in the estate, it was truly fabulous. Only minor things that would make it more practical like plug sockets where the tea/coffee is displayed. The grounds are beautiful and lovely for walking during the day but at night there are no lights. Facilities are good but room for improvement. Sauna, gym and treatment rooms are a walk or drive away which is fine but not fitting in with luxury or for a woman by herself. The staff were very friendly but understaffed. We stayed over new years and they took on more than they could handle. Service was all over the place. Unfortunately would not return, the room could not make up for the rest."

"Myself, my partner and our dog stayed for 2 nights at the Liss Ard estate the weekend just gone. We had an absolutely fantastic weekend. The room was lovely and finished to a high standard, and a huge plus was having access to our own private garden for our dog. The grounds were absolutely beautiful for a walk around and the breakfast was delicious both mornings. We had dinner the second night, I ordered the venison and my partner ordered the duck, they were both cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly, and helpful especially Mary at the reception and Conor at the bar, and the whole experience was so personable. We were so impressed with our stay that we are 100% going to stay there again. A huge bonus was being able to bring our dog away with us for a weekend and being able to have him in the public areas in the hotel also. Can't wait for the next visit!"

"My husband and I traveled to Ireland for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Throughout our journey we traveled over 840 kilometers within the first four days. While encountering many bed and breakfast locations and hotels, none of them compare to the Liss Ard Estate. This Estate is absolutely stunning and surround by views of the countryside, a beautiful garden and a forest fit for a picture book beside a robust lake. Upon arriving at the Estate we were accommodated with the most outstanding hospitality and professionalism. We appreciated every detail this Estate offers that truly made our vacation feel as if we were on a magical retreat. Throughout our stay my husband and I feel like we have gained friends due to the amazing courtesy shown by the staff of the Estate as they perfected every detail of our stay. We just want to say thank you to everyone for making our vacation one we will never forget. "Lovely stay here. Our room was in the Mews building and although it was on the small side the furnishings and decor are of the finest quality. The food we had for dinner and again at breakfast Was excellent. They have a lovely bar which is cosy and comfortable in the main building. The staff are obliging and welcoming. There are beautiful walks and other amenities in the estate however we did not have either the weather or the time needed to explore these during our short stay."
