"Absolute shambles with staff not caring about the patients/customers. I queued for 55 minutes just to hand in my prescription, I’m soon to be 78 so it wasn’t easy standing all that time. It was then another 35 minute wait to get it filled. There’s lots of staff and they all seem busy doing things but it’s so chaotic and there’s no proper system in place. Why don’t they have one or two assignments on the counter all the time, one or two giving out filled prescriptions and leave the pharmacists to make them up. Anyone wanting to just purchase something, ie shampoo for an in patient still has to wait among the masses to get served. Total shambles."

"Prescription from cancer unit sent electronically, so queued in number 1. 40 mins waiting to get served paperwork checked on screen the assistant retrieved the drug put in a basket with the paperwork & then said current wait is 45 mins!! So it takes that long for presumably a pharmacist to rubber stamp the selected drug & approve. Unbelievable, chronically understaffed the queues mean nothing some were going from number 1 to 3 & getting attended to. The management should be ashamed of what is occurring on a daily basis. The royal is generally a good hospital but these experiences leave a poor impression. Presumably the contract with Pride is overseen by UHDB in which case they should be asking questions, the whole experience is diabolical and needs sorting ASAP. ."

"Totally unacceptable service !!!!! Was prescribed new eye drops over 2 weeks ago at the KTC on site. Queued for over 90 mins only to be told not in stock. I asked when they would be, to be told " maybe tomorrow, or the day after ? Maybe next week. Try us in a few days ". I had to ask for a meds owing slip before I left as they would not give me my unfilled prescription back. I called multiple times over the next few days, never to be answered. Went back in person after 4 days, queued for anothe 45 mins, still not got my drops in. After complaining politely, I was suppled with another version of what had been prescribed, to cover half of it, and tol they would call me when rest came in. That was 13 days ago......no call, and still no reply when I call them. Nor would they give me my prescription back before they supplied what they have, telling me it has to be dispensed by them. So they are denying me my meds as prescribed. The place needs closing down, they are worse than useless."

"Two hours waiting for a prescription today. In the last fortnight I've spent over six hours at this pharmacy waiting. This is AFTER being told by clinic that my prescription can be collected. They tell you you can go and come back and pick it up later, but you'll still have to wait over an hour to pick it up, they won't have it ready for you. Woefully, woefully understaffed. Ten times the staff they have currently might make it viable. Staff themselves are nice enough but obviously have to deal with miserable patients all day - and of course we're miserable, we're not in hospital because we're in good health! It was better when it was a Boots, and that's saying something because it was awful then!"

"Service is very poor. The waiting times for prescriptions is ridiculously long, if you are not sent away and told to come back the next day. The staff wonder around looking like they don't know what they are doing. And some of the staff are rude."
