"I've not stayed here but been in for drinks and food. It's a reasonably nice setting and good atmosphere but don't expect much from the cuisine - it is distinctly average and there are far better options in town within a matter of minutes walk."

"This old bank come Bar is a wonderful venue, serving homely food thats well cooked and full of flavor and a wide selection of beer, wine and sprits. The old bank vault has been turned into a seating area with a unique view of the old construction. The venue often has live entertainment and guest food traders to use their spare kitchen area to offer a twist on their normal menu. Always feel welcome and despite its large open room it has a cozy feel."

"The Market House on Market Place in Reading town centre is really quite a funky and different venue. The building itself is an old bank and the function room out the bank is in what was the old vault - albeit with a big chunk of the ceiling literally hacked off! As you come in through the main entrance you go past the lift and the stairs and through into a very high ceiling main room where the bar is and also where the kitchen is. The theme is industrial through and through and works really well. Spacious is definitely the key word here. There is an upstairs mezzanine type area which is an extension to the main room. Toilets are downstairs in what can only be described as some bizarre Nightmare on Elm Street type corridor. This is a good thing you will see what I mean for yourself. I’ve only been once and didn’t know this place existed but definitely going back. Really like the place from a drinks venue perspective. Food was good we had pizzas. Recommended."

"I’ve slept over a couple of times. The rooms and en suite bathrooms are spacious. Good mattresses on the beds. No problems with the WiFi. Friendly staff and easy to check in and out. I’ve also had a drink both in the rooftop bar and downstairs. Both are good. The music was a bit loud in the rooftop bar. If I had time, I’d love to park off in front of the roof top cinema."

"I don't normally leave reviews but felt I needed to for this place. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left and everything in between it was surprisingly good - particularly because of the low cost. The decor is really modern and interesting, room was spacious, ceiling heights massive, coffee machine a nice touch, shower was great. We didn't eat in the restaurant because we wanted more of a full-on restaurant as opposed to something more casual, but this worked really well too as it's a stone's throw from loads, and in a great area too (particularly along the water way). For a balanced review, I wouldn't say this was a posh place, but considering the low cost it really punches above its weight. We were missing caffeinated coffee sachets which we only realised after a few (but they were still really nice). Oh and the view out the window was of a roof a few metres away (no good view!) but for a short stay in the middle of a city, we were winning. Would definitely stay at this brand of hotel again, and they gave us some points to use which also helps!!"
