"Had a great burger, I had the 'next level burger'. It was very tasty the sauce was great. The atmosphere was nice , music not too loud. Service was good. I think we had all the servers as they were all attentive. But Izzy was our main server and she did a great job. Will definitely go there again."

"4 stars because the food was good, presentation and flavour were on point. The service was a bit chaotic. Other reviews said they had a service fee and small glasses which is not the case anymore. However, no one told us that the drinks were free refill and the menu didn’t say it either so maybe it’s worth asking. We would not come back, but we would recommend for a first time. Everything was deep fried so by the end you are going to feel very full."

"If Gordon Ramsay’s name is on it, I hold it to a higher standard especially because I picked the spot over other burger spots because of him. I ordered the $16 lunch special with burger fries and a soda. As mentioned in other reviews, the glass is tiny for the drink and I didn’t want to get up to keep getting refills. Also, they have ice in this tiny little bucket (like the ones you have at hotels) and you have to get each piece of ice one by one. It’s also not sanitary because you just drop the tongs back into the ice after you’ve touched it. The burger came out and it looked good enough. I took one bite of the burger and there was so much sauce in it that it flew everywhere! I mean there was sauce all over my hands and the tray, it took one whole linen cloth towel to wipe it all off. The meat itself was cooked nicely but the flavor was just overpowered by the sauce. The fries were amazingly the best part, crispy and seasoned nicely. Then there is a 12.5% service charge that they pre-add to the bill. The server was nice enough and he did say they could take it off without me prompting but I just don’t think I should have to feel bad taking it off when service only included taking my order and dropping off a tray of food once. Lastly the amount of time it took me to get my menu (10 minutes after sitting down) and then another 20-25 minutes to get my burger doesn’t seem right for the minimal amount of patrons as well as the style of the fast-casual restaurant"

"First impression. Waitress was super kind and cute and nice. We were quite satisfied with burgers, very tasty awesome flavour, never tasted anything like this. In a good way. As I had my birthday on the same day the waitress surprised me with a banana split for free of charge. First experience with Gordon’s restaurant, definitely not the last. 100% recommend it!!!"

"Went in for lunch, it was really quiet, 2 other tables in the place. As such service was great. It's a self-service soft drinks situation, but you get tiny glasses so you're constantly up and down to the drinks machine. £16 for a burger, chips, and bottomless soft drink. If you want to swap that soft drink for a single 330ml beer it's an extra £4 (ouch) The food came quickly, unsurprisingly considering how quiet it was, and was well presented on a stainless platter with some greaseproof paper.... The hell's kitchen burger was pretty decent, the best part about it was the jalapeno and Padron pepper salsa which was amazing. The burger itself, whilst pink in the middle seemed pretty dry. The bun wasn't brioche which was a pleasant surprise. The usual suspects of tomato/lettuce/pickle were all in there and tasted very fresh and crisp. The chips were nice, though a few more wouldn't have gone amiss. Whilst it was good, only getting 3 stars for a few reasons; There are so many burger places in Reading, and let's be 'honest', there are better ones to pick for the price. There was a 12.5% service charge pre-added to the bill - I'm happy to pay a tip for good service, but I'd rather praise somebody for good service that's over and above by adding a tip than insult somebody for perfectly acceptable service, which I would consider doing the job that you're paid a wage for, by removing the "optional" service fee. The bottomless glass situation - just give people normal sized glasses."
