OROKO Travel

"It's a lovely hotel but there are compromises. We were greeted by a number of company events. One particular US company had gathered employees from across the world to treat them to an all expenses paid reward. So it was party party and all expenses paid mentality. They took over the place. Breakfast was a very noisy event each day they were there. This impacts on all other patrons. It's rated as a 5 star hotel but many guest behave like it's a 3 star! Give an example of the typical behaviour, just after lunch one day a number of them descended upon the adult pool and took over the whole place. Imagine there are 20 people in the pool drinking alcohol and there is 10 different conversations going on, nobody is listening to anyone and everything is on loop 5 times over. 2 star guest behaviour in what is suppose to be a 5 star venue. Location is further away from Dubrovnik than expected, there are no footpaths to walk out of location to even get a walk in. There is a great transfer from hotel to Dubrovnik town but has to be paid for. It's rated as a 5 star hotel, but the pillows are not good. There should be a pillow menu and not 1 type fits all approach. The duvet is too heavy for summer sleeping also. It felt like a winter duvet in togs. The resort is expensive for dining offerings, the shop has a limited supply and it very expensive (even for bottled water). Eating out in Dubrovnik town is cheaper and we had the choice of many restaurants. Overall, if going to Dubrovnik again, we'd not stay at this resort. We feel we could do better on the same budget. Stay in Dubrovnik town and have the ability to walk everywhere and not be relying on transfers / ubers."

Oroko also arranged an upgrade to the honeymoon suite, a romantic dinner for two and drinks and treats on arrival to our room. Looking forward to booking with Oroko again soon!"
