About the Business
Uncle Tom's Cabin is more than just a typical bar or establishment. It's a piece of Dublin's history that has been around since the 1800s, and has served as a regular gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Located in the scenic area of Dundrum, the bar provides a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy drinks, food, and good company.
The building itself is a beautiful example of Dublin's architecture, with its charming brick facade and classic interior decor. Stepping inside the pub, you'll find a cozy and inviting space, complete with comfortable seating, a lovely fireplace, and tasteful Irish-themed decorations. The atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or meet new people.
At Uncle Tom's Cabin, you'll find a full bar that serves a wide selection of beers, wines, cocktails, and spirits. Whether you prefer a classic pint of Guinness, a refreshing mojito, or something more unique, their experienced bartenders will be happy to mix up your favorite drink. In addition, a delicious menu of classic pub food is available all day, including hearty Irish breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers, and much more.
But Uncle Tom's Cabin isn't just a place to grab a bite and a drink. It's also an important local point of interest, with a rich history that is interwoven with the local community. The pub has been a fixture in the neighborhood for over 150 years, and has witnessed countless social, political, and cultural events during that time. It has also hosted many famous patrons, from Irish poets and writers to Hollywood stars and musicians.
Overall, Uncle Tom's Cabin is a beloved institution that represents everything that is great about Dublin's pub culture: warmth, friendliness, good times, and a deep sense of history. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's well worth a visit to experience the magic of this iconic bar for yourself.
Reviews
"Great little pub. Barmen were very friendly. Lovely pint of Guinness and a good atmosphere."
"This is a strange place, lounge feels like it's from the 60s. Very dated. They also run some sort of strange 18 year older disco at the side of it which brings some strange characters around. Would avoid this place"
"We had a lovely event in Uncle Tom’s Cabin recently. The atmosphere was brilliant, and the staff were wonderful! The space was great, perfect for a party!! Many thanks for the lovely evening!"
"Uncle Tom’s is an old pub but now with new management. In the front is the bar, which has retained its quaint old-world charm. To the rear sits the lounge and further back an outdoor area including upper terrace. Food is served here daily and is delicious. No “pub grub” here. Toilets could do with a little refurb and maybe the draught selection could be varied a little but overall a great place for a quiet pint, or to catch a game with friends, or an after-work drinks session."
