"Great breakfast. Children's breakfast large and good value. Lovely room. Communal areas could do with a touch up in places but generally very good."

"The interior design is very good and has a nice feel, the staff are exemplary, helpful and friendly. The bedding was of a good standard and the bed was comfortable but the lighting was very poor. The whole building has maintenance problems, i.e. the shower in our room was nicely designed but leaked really badly although it had a bodged repair at one stage. The toilets that served the bar area one of the male toilet pan was loose and one felt danger of toppling as it moved so much, and another was blocked the whole place seemed to need a refresh. Occasionally in the room we stayed in a store room door (adjacent to our room) was slammed late at night and early in the morning. The breakfast was too restrictive in it's options, not enough cereal options no toast or yoghurt offered, and the jugged coffee that we tasted was very unpleasant."

"Room was Beautiful and had everything u need. Wd have been nice to have a small fridge but no biggy. Toilet flush needs attention. Restaurant lovely and food was great"

"The room was very large with a king size bed and sofa bed and the hotel was in the perfect location for our needs. We wanted to love the hotel but sadly poor maintenance lets it down. There was a leak in the ceiling above the bay window (from the flat roof) that was dripping due to the rain the night we stayed, which really needs to be fixed. Besides that, there was a large amount of mould between the window and the secondary glazing in the bay window, which is not unusual in an older building, but looked like it hadn't been cleaned for some time. The bathroom sink was attached to wall tiles which had fully come away from the wall so the sink didn't look very safe, there was no blind at the bathroom window (although there was a net curtain but a blind would have been preferable), there were two ceiling light fittings in the bedroom with several bulbs (which is unusual in a lot of hotels) but the majority didn't work. I like a firm bed, but the bed in the room was so hard it was uncomfortable and I didn't sleep very well - a topper would help. A small thing, but there was no plug socket next to the only mirror in the bedroom - the full length mirror in the hallway, which made drying your hair very difficult. On the plus side the breakfast was delicious and great value for money. There is huge potential if more attention is paid to maintenance (although after the past two years a little tiredness is understandable)."

"We visited Brighton in half term for a night and had a great stay. Our room was clean and large and the bed was comfy. The meal in the evening in the adjoining restaurant was fantastic and the staff were super helpful throughout (they even posted my wash bag home to me free of charge the next day as I'd I forgot to pack it!)"
