"I was an agency driver, I used to work through the Jewson group. I happened to go into Goddards Green branch, I was told that I need to wear a hard hat to drop the sides of the vehicle. The person whom told me that the hard hat must be worn is apparently part of health and safety, I did put on the hard hat without any problem. Apparently this was a problem, the guy from health and safety, I do not know his name, he was so put out over the issue, he contacted the agency I was then working through, the agency then contacted me. I have returned to Goddards Green branch to collect goods, on this visit there was an employed Jewson driver dropping the sides to his vehicle, not wearing a hard hat, the wearing of a hard hat is a rule and part of the policy as a HGV driver. I do have video evidence of this taking place at Goddards Green branch of Jewson. Policy and procedures are there in place for all, not just a select few."

"Helpful to the bloke that knows nothing about nothing when it comes to building supplies, without making you feel like a total idiot. Polite, professional and knowledgeable. The yard chap also helped me load 30 bags of cement and a whole bunch of other stuff too with being asked. Super bunch of people !!"

"These guys are always very helpful. Another benefit is that they keep probably the biggest stock of building materials in the area. I could find only here actual stock of 60 and 70mm Celotex for next day delivery. They also keep a huge variety of timber and at a very good price, too. Although we live in Brighton, I love the area of Burgess Hill and Goddards Green as I can find Jewson, Travis Perkins, B&Q, Toolstation, Screwfix and other specialist merchants within about 1 mile radius. From our place in Hollingbury it takes only about 18 minutes to get there, not much longer than to any place in Brighton, but much less crowded. (Still, we won't move over there as they don't have the sea...:o)"
