"BEWARE!!! This place is a complete scam. The most unprofessional service ever. Won’t reply to emails. Went for a check-up. Waited 30 minutes as they were running late. Wasn’t even asked to lie down in the chair. Just perched on the end, opened my mouth and dentist said all was fine but need to be referred to another practice for an X-ray as they don’t have the correct equipment at City Dental. The entire appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. Was charged £24.30 for absolutely nothing!! Turns out the other practice is owned by the dentist at city dental and the X-ray would be private not on the nhs. Something seriously dodgy going on. If you’re an NHS patient you shouldn’t need to pay for an X-ray, it should be part of the check-up as well as a scale and polish. Save the stress and just go elsewhere. This place just wants your money and won’t even look at your teeth."

"Very bad experience indeed! I was abandonned mid way through root canal work because the dentist didn't have the tools! I was then referred to Hassocks dental hospital only to be told they couldn't guarantee treatment. I had to pay for the root canal work that wasn't completed. When I took my custom elsewhere, the receptionist asked why I didn't let the dental hospital do it. I told her that treatment couldn't be guaranteed. She was either unaware of this or knew perfectly well what was going on and was lying. I suspect the latter. I also had to report another dentist in the Practice for being unpleasant to me on my first visit and had to ask to see someone else. I have since had the root canal done in Eastbourne at the price of 600 odd pounds and am waiting for a crown to be fitted in the next two months. What a pity City dental wasted my time and money with needless messing about!"

"They were the only dentist in town who could offer my girlfriend an emergency appointment for a wisdom tooth issue. I subsequently visited them for a check up and clean, and was impressed. Prices are reasonable and staff friendly. If you are struggling to find a NHS dentist to take you on like me have no fear these guys will look after you in the meantime."
