Castle Carvery Racecourse

"I recently had the opportunity to dine at Castle Carvery, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. My experience was quite disappointing, and there were several issues that detracted from my overall enjoyment. First and foremost, the quality of the food was poor. The meat was dry and overcooked, and the vegetables were under-seasoned and lacking in flavor. I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and care put into the preparation of the food. In addition to the poor quality of the food, the atmosphere in the restaurant was incredibly loud and chaotic. There were children running around everywhere, which made it difficult to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing meal. The restaurant could benefit from creating designated areas for families with children and setting clear expectations for appropriate behavior for all diners. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience at this carvery. While I appreciate the convenience of a buffet-style restaurant, the poor quality of the food and chaotic atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy my meal. I hope that the restaurant can take steps to address these issues in the future and create a better dining experience for its customers."

"Save your money! This place has gone downhill! After waiting an hour for a table we got seated which was very cramped and not comfortable, and as my sister is 7 months pregnant and my mum is in remission from cancer she asked the manager to be please be reseated.. he said “they are all full so you’ll have to stay there” unbelievable! Then we was eventually reseated and we got told 20 different things off staff members who didn’t communicate all night, they forgot my mums carvery ticket for 30 minuets, it was also her birthday.. As for the carvery.. Well the veg was dry, watered down and old, the potatoes, Yorkshire's were defiantly not fresh, the counter was filthy with gravy and food and it was the worst one we have seen. My mum told the manageress to which she agreed and told the rudest chef to take them away and replace them to which he did. The burgers and chicken we had were very dry also. So after 2 hours of endless waiting around and mess ups and extreme rudeness we told the manager we wanted a refund to which he refused! And he told us it’s best we don’t come back! I said don’t worry we wouldn’t want to! He’s constantly running around smiling acting busy, very smarmy, and shouts at all his staff which is disgusting! His names Richard, which he didn’t care saying! Absolute shambles and terrible management."

"Went at 3pm thinking may be a little less busy but was packed! Waited around 25 minutes to be seated 10 minutes at the bar for drinks only two bar staff on. But once finally seated carvery was nice and hot with plenty of veg potatoes etc as soon as anything was getting low it was filled straight up. the guys serving were smiling as always which is nice. Staff rushed off their feet but still very helpful. Only bad point was the toilets were not great !!"
