"This is great place to have a romantic dinner for 2 or a family dinner. It is a good bar to catch up with friends and have a nice night out. When you walk into The Poet you don't feel out of place or people are looking at you the way you feel sometimes in other bars. Staff are really friendly."

"Used to love the Poet but sadly the service now is very poor not enough staff to deal with customers also seems to be no Atmosphere any more, used to have a good buzz in there not now more, seem to cater more now for people eating seem to have forgot about there loyal regulars who have been supporting the Poet for years.Poet Management pull your finger out.!!"

"Just popped in for a couple of cappuccino and a chinwag with an old friend. Service was very friendly and efficient. Cappuccinos were good, served hot and with a smile from the barman. Would definitely return for dinner based on the experience today. Good service always merits a return trip."

"Saturday night. Last minute decision to go out. No problem getting a table. A little noisy as football team in, after their match. Felt their choice on menu had downsized a bit, but still served tasty food - Starters Prawn cocktail and Breaded Brie followed by mains - Peppered Chicken Stack on mash , Steak Sandwich/ pepper sauce on Ciabatta with Skinny Chips. White wine choice. Staff friendly and attentive."
