"I have used this shop regularly and always found it a pleasureable experience however this was not the case today. Scenario: I pulled into the car park & found a young man who appeared to be asleep on the ground. I felt it was my duty to ascertain that nobody was in any danger. I spoke to him for several minutes, he was clearly inebriated and became verbally aggressive towards me so I walked away. A passer-by informed me that he was always there; I had never seen him before. I went to the shop to enquire if this was the case. I was greeted very rudely & informed I couldn't enter the shop due to numbers; I was stood in the doorway at the time & only wanted to confirm the information. I was also informed that they didn't have time to look after him & work; I wasn't expecting that they would. I had to ask the person serving to stop ranting in order that I could establish the facts. Apparently he is often there & lives above the shop but how would I have known this? It was not my intention to be a busybody, I was just trying to show a little kindness to a fellow human being. Will I use this shop again? I don't think so"

"I popped into this shop to get advice about a tortoise. The lady in the shop (steph) was so helpful and knew lots about tortoises and reptiles. She was able to advise me which light to buy and answer a few questions I had. A really great local pet shop experience with people who care about animals! Highly recommended!"

"This is a excellent store for pet and wildlife supplies, we buy large bags of wild bird seed every few weeks at great prices. The owners are very knowledgeable and friendly. We have been customer's for years and never had any problems to speak of just good service."

"The staff of this pet shop are very polite and friendly, but the owners who are often present in the shop take advantage of their customers. On two occasions now a relative of mine has been told the price of a box of 200 frozen chicks is £15, which the staff of the shop also say when in the shop itself. However, now, on two occasions my relative has been made a fool of as the owners have tried to charge him £20 for the box, and got very rude about it. There wasn't even 200 chicks in the box - you do not get what they try to charge you for. To top it off, they used to buy insects for reptile food from this shop, but sold insects so small (though it stated large on the box) that they were escaping from the air holes in the plastic tub - there were hardly any insects left in the box but they still charged full price. Colombard pets used to be a lovely shop, and made a pleasant change from the big chain stores that are everywhere now, it's just a shame that they too have taken to conning the public out of greed instead of looking after their customers when it is them that are at fault. Edit: My relative told the owners of the issues I mentioned above whilst in the shop - and only got a rude response instead of anything helpful from you. Writing a review seems to be the only way the owners take notice of feedback. Google reviews are for honest opinions, observations and most importantly based on experiences, you were given one. The issue involving the chicks were not about the price in general, but about getting two different price from two people who were working in the shop at the same time - on the same day. When they bought the bugs that were so small that they could escape through the air holes in the box, the person that served them knew of the issue as they were trying to catch them from the till and put them back in the box. So members of staff were fully aware on each occasion so please don't attempt to shift blame on these experiences when staff were aware, thank you."
