Our approach is different from traditional lenders, because we offer loans based on trust, rather than just financial criteria. We build a personal relationship with each borrower, to understand their aspirations, challenges and strengths, and to tailor the loan to their needs. Our loans are affordable and flexible, and can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as buying equipment, materials or stock, paying for training or marketing, or covering short-term cash flow gaps.

However, we know that loans are not enough to ensure business success. That's why Purple Shoots also offers a variety of training and support services, to help entrepreneurs develop their skills, confidence, and networks. We offer courses on business planning, financial management, marketing, and customer service, as well as one-to-one mentoring and peer support groups. We also connect our borrowers with local suppliers, customers, and partners, to create a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem of small businesses.

Our impact is measurable and meaningful. Since our founding in 2012, we have supported over 600 businesses, created over 800 jobs, and lent over £5 million to entrepreneurs who had been turned away by banks or other lenders. Our borrowers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, including women, minorities, immigrants, ex-offenders, and people with disabilities. We have also won several awards for our innovative and inclusive approach to business support.
