"My two friends and I stayed one night in this hostel and we were so impressed. Lovely and helpful staff and we had a fantastic stay. The location is beautiful and rural, but there is a bus stop right outside and getting into the town centre shouldn’t be a problem if you get your bus times right, but we did walk the 3ish miles into town at one point and it was a beautiful and scenic walk through the villages. The room was spotlessly clean, really comfortable bunk beds and there were quite a few bathroom facilities on site, again all very clean and pleasant looking. Wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, I shall definitely be using a YHA hostel again as the balue for money is phenomenal. Thank you!"

"This is a really nice venue - I was very impressed by the building and location. The people seemed friendly, and the place wasn't covered in CCTV, so it avoided looking like a prison, which a lot of hotels suffer from. The WiFi however was slightly intermittent and eventually stopped working altogether. The outdoor spaces are very nice too - worth visiting just to sit and relax in the grounds, and perhaps buy a pint when their bar is open. A few minor improvements needed but I hope to return. A great use for this former mansion building."

"It's a lovely place to stay with direct access to walking routes. My children loved playing around the large enclosure and the games room, even though it is a bit worn, was a very friendly and fun place."

"Really enjoyed staying here. The evening food was delicious (I had the potato, cheese and leek pie). Room was large, with a shower and toilet. There were sufficient plug sockets available and there was free WiFi (however it did like disconnecting a lot - was still v useful as service was low for me). Location was gorgeous and it was nice and clean."
