"A Holiday Inn Express hotel is what I would best describe as a "functional stay" rather than a hotel experience. A bed, a breakfast and parking (charged of course). It was very clean, the staff we're very pleasant and the room was good. Setting that aside and bearing in mind that Cardiff hosted a large sporting event the weekend we stayed, the price point for a two night stay in a standard room was a staggering £860!! Did it represent good value, certainly not. Would I stay here again, yes, at the rate that was a third of the price advertised prior to the event. Supply and demand, I guess so but £140 sort of a £1000, wow. For that kind of money elsewhere, Id expect a "hotel experience" if Im honest."
"Good location, the hotel is clean and well appointed. The room was a good size. The staff were brilliant, super friendly and accommodating for storing expressed milk for the baby and making sure we had access to it at all times. Breakfast was nice - overall a lovely overnight stay."
"Room was nice and clean and check in was pretty swift. Breakfast included but replenishing stuff took a while. Parking available but costs £10 otherwise it would have been 5 stars"
"As HIEs go this is definitely one of the best that I've stayed in. A very well appointed room and a comfortable bed. The bathroom has plenty of space but there is a definite whiff of drain that needs sorting. A little disappointed to see that spilt coffee had not been cleaned up. Good views over the water. Breakfast was lacking much of a fruit option unless you like bananas."
