"My father was admitted in 2012 and suffered a catastrophic event in his hospital room. He was transferred, by the Vale, to The Royal Glamorgan Hospital where he died as a result of the catastrophic event a few days later. The surgeon and doctor concerned no longer work at The Vale. I cannot speak for all the other staff concerned, including an additional private one to one nurse engaged for my father. It is only now that I feel I am able to leave this honest but short review as the event, and it’s subsequent effects, almost destroyed my family and myself."

"Thank you to all the team at The Vale for the incredible service you provided, my consultant Alan Woodward was brilliantly knowledgeable and understanding, anaesthetists were fantastic with me and the aftercare I received from the nurses was amazing, they were exceptionally well trained and knowledgeable and with me within minutes every time I called. Last but not least the catering team also a fantastic job, food was delicious and the menu was better a lot of restaurants I’ve been in, I could have stayed a while longer! "Excellent service from the moment I walked into reception. Every member of staff I met from the cleaners to My Surgeon, MR ALAN WOODWARD were both kind and caring. So much so, that every anxiety I had quickly disappeared. I was shown into a bright sunny room, which had everything I needed. My experience in the theatre. I will describe as superb, thanks to the lovely bedside manner of Mr. Woodward. He immediately put me at ease. Throughout the procedure (done under local anaesthetic), Mr Woodward chatted to me every step of the way, informing me what he was doing. He kept asking if I was alright, which I thought was rather nice. Neither can I fault the theatre team, they too were very attentive, putting their patient first. Once the procedure was over, I was taken back to my room, served a delicious meal and fresh coffee. Two hours later I was on my way home. I would not hesitate to recommend Nuffield for its 5 star treatment - patient care at its very best. Thank you!"

"Despite the need to change location for my spinal procedure from the Bay to the Vale, the experience was exceptional. From the receptionist, the nurses, the X-ray staff, and the consultant, they were fantastic. As soon as I got there and realised that I was in pain, they got me a chair to make me as comfortable as possible until I was ready to go into theatre. They explained everything that was needed and even offered to contact my wife once I was out. They managed to put my mind at ease throughout. I can't fault a single person I dealt with. Thank you."
