"Came upon by accident. Had the fish and the scampi. My 85 year old father in law said it was the best fish he's ever had. All the food was top notch. And the service was even better. Will absolutely be visiting again in the near future"

"We had booked a table of 6 on Boxing Day. The gentleman who served us was very attentive and apologised for the lack of starters and low availability of mains. The food was ok, my steak was on the cold side but the rest on the plate was warm. Up until that point everything was ok. We ordered deserts and when the blonde lady from behind the bar served our deserts she didn’t know what they were. She said this was is some kind of cake, my husband said smell it….it may be chocolate orange. She then replied I won’t smell it because if it’s chocolate orange I will vomit all over the table. We were gobsmacked by that response. To be honest it put me off my desert. I think your staff should have training on your menu and be re trained on customer service. Very poor."

"It was better now that the previous landlord has finished, we haven't been there in about 4 years due to the food quality and quantity provided by the previous landlord. Great service and lovely food. Martin the assistant manager is running a good team. Very helpful and enjoyable. The food was poor tonight and not enjoyable at all."

"Lovely meal here last week - steak & ale pie was fab. Recommend booking ahead - had a great booth table. Nice atmosphere too. Would definitely come again."

"Excellent service. This local pub and restaurant certainly deserves to succeed, the staff there are very welcoming and courteous and they will go that extra mile. At very short notice, they put on a buffet for family and friends following the funeral of our brother and I would like to convey my grateful thanks to all concerned, especially Katie, Liam and Tom."
