"Keep your expectations in check and you will have a good experience. The food is ok. The pub is nice and clean very well presented and the staff are decent and friendly. Which gets it the extra overall star for me. If you want food that the kids will eat and somewhere that allows well behaved dogs then come here, it's right up your alley. Mostly they have a good selection of beers and the coffee is neither great nor is it bad. There is lots of parking and somewhere to drink outside. The Dog and Partridge is a very good example of this type of restaurant."

"Literally haven't been here for years 20 +. Recent rumours were saying it was back to its best. Really nice atmosphere, excellent food with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Spent £80 ish for 6 including starters and dessert (not everyone). But overall would highly recommend."

"Really bad experience today. Would of complained but no one to complain to!! A hour for our starters to arrive and one of the mains came out with them. Food was poor. Service was nonexistent almost. sausages were so burnt you could have used them as charcoal and natchos were hard enough to stab someone with. The one member of staff running food was slow enough to hang your coats on.. except that we had to keep them on cos it was so cold in there! It wasn't even busy. Rubbish!"

"Had to keep our coats on as it was so cold in there. Food sent back as it was cold, not great quality when it did arrive, definitely not sizzling and full of oil. Also, don’t go on a Wednesday unless you want to play bingo or try and have a conversation with friends."

"My wife introduced me to this pub! Not for drinks but for a meal. I believe that in the last 6 years it's changed hands and the food supplier and prep has changed. After having a few dozen meals here in the last 6 years, only once did I have a meal which fell below their usual good standards. Staff are always bright and chatty. I shall be happy to keep visiting the D&P in the future."
