Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel

"Customer service is amazing even before you step foot inside. Bags were taken on the front steps and taken straight to the room. We were then given a tour around the hotel which was very helpful. Beautiful rooms whether you like something classic or modern. Very comfortable. Top class from start to finish. Great experience and highly recommend."

"Beautiful property. Everything is with walking distance - shopping, old town, the castle. Given that this hotel is seven connected buildings, I think you’ll find that all the rooms are unique and always stylish. The common spaces are allow welcoming too - the map room, Abba restaurant/breakfast area, the garden like bar in the bar, etc. Remy, Abril, and all the staff were fantastic! I love this property."

"LOVED staying here! They made it feel upgraded and modern, but still charming and historical and full of great character. The staff was great and SO helpful for anything we needed. They truly wanted to make sure we were taken care of & having a great experience. Everything was clean & tidy. The location was great, easily walkable to anywhere we wanted to go without being in a heavily crowded area. We loved our stay here and will definitely come back here as well as seek out Kimpton’s in the future."

"Underwhelming Experience. Very nice hotel inside and out with very courteous staff throughout the hotel. I was great full for my early check in and the free breakfast, thanks to my status. However, the experience was instantly dampened upon arriving at my room. The room was to a good standard but was far from clean. I was shocked by the state of the bed, dark stains on the duvet (visible through the linen), what appeared to be a coffee stain on the linen, stain on the pillow case & dirt/crumbs on the sheets. I mentioned this to the front desk and I was promptly allocated a different room - this was much cleaner in comparison. Both allocated rooms did seem quite tired and did not represent very good value for almost £300 a night. Both were in need of some attention from flaking paint to stained/marked flooring. A very good breakfast service with multiple offerings. I also noticed that on my floor there was a guests breakfast remains left out in the morning - it was still there well into the evening. Overall, I did enjoy my stay at the Kimpton. It was just let down by the housekeeping or lack of. When I return to Edinburgh I would choose the Intercontinental hotel (same group)."

"Great stay! Spent 2 nights here. Very clean rooms and comfortable bed. Shower was a bit non ideal as it’s a half tub. Friendly staff and the head concierge is very knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet is quite impressive too. Amazing lox and OJ!"
