"Great morning seakayaking 3 times around the lake. Can recommend the location but must be a member to paddle the lake. Coffee and food available in the club house on Sundays. A friendly group of Paddlers Wednesday and Saturday."

"Am angry. My girlfriend and I have our own dinghies which we wished to sail. I gathered together a list of places which were open and started ringing round to find somewhere that we can float our boats. Hollingworth, usually very welcoming, said that unfortunately they weren't saling that day as the winds were far too high, Glossops water levels were too low due to actions by United Ultilites, fine. Called these guys, they said "Yeah come down, we'll sort something out." Excellent. Loaded up the car prepped all the gear and made our way to the Flash, only to be told that under no circumstances were we allowed to sail without becoming full members at a cost of £320 as no day sailing is permitted. Thanks. Wasted my whole day. By the time we got all the gear prepped and got to the Flash, going elsewhere was no longer an option. I don't mind not being allowed to sail on a lake, fine, Trafford Water Sports Centre doesn't allow day sailing either, but they told me before I wasted most of the day getting there. I was previously thinking of becoming a member of this club, but the unwelcoming nature and necessity to then have to work for them while a member after paying £320 has changed my mind."
