"Had early evening meal with three friends. Unfortunately the place was almost empty with no atmosphere at all. Food ok but not brilliant. Two meals were quite good and two poor think they had been kept warm under a light. Not cheap for pub food and choice limited."

"Hard to get excited about a Sunday roast, until you visit the British Oak. Absolutely fabulous. Generous serving of meat. As I moved my veg more meat appeared. All cooked to perfection, but the real treat believe it or not was the grated red cabbage. It was like the food of the gods. Who'd have believed it. A dedicated carnivore raving about red cabbage. Gorgeousness on a plate."

"Drove past this place a few times decided to call in for Sunday roast, didn’t book but they had a table, food served in good pace and was amazing all meat cooked perfectly and veg topped with a fantastic gravy then I finished off with a lovely apple crumble and custard. Service was also top notch"
