"We had lunch here whilst in Skipton. We wanted somewhere by the canal and this place fitted the bill. Proper old fashioned pub. Ordered sandwiches and sides. Enormous portions and tasty. Menu had a good range of options. Good value for money. Recommend if you are in Skipton"

"Really nice pub off the beaten path, pleasantly surprised it wasn’t packed with tourists. Lovely indoor area and sunny outdoor area. Great selection of beers on tap, tried a rhubarb cider and it was absolutely gorgeous, not too sweet like fruity ciders can be. For food there’s a great selection of pub favourites with vegan and gluten free options. Hidden gem in Skipton 10/10 will be back."

"We celebrated my Mum's 80th birthday on 28th May at the Royal Shepherd and we had a fabulous time! We booked a table of 13 and were given a private room... Which was just perfect for us. The food was delicious! The staff were friendly, fast and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. Thank you!"

"Excellent pub right beside the canal, great food and service ..the roast beef was perfect for Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, and plenty of gravy..pate with toast and a black pudding and bacon to start the lot for £40.. great value."
