"On my first visit here last week this immediately became my favourite cinema in London. The quality of the decor and design are second to none, striking a perfect balance between high end luxury while retaining an unpretentious independent feel. Also the best Dolby cinema experience I've ever had - the colours, contrast (with true blacks) & immersive sound are on a level unmatched by any cinema I've visited before; I was actually taken aback during the pre-movie Dolby presentation. As other reviews have said, the drinks & snacks selection is smaller than other venues at the moment but is all high quality products, and I'm sure this is something that may be expanded on as the cinema develops. The staff were perfectly friendly and helpful and I'll be making this my go-to cinema whenever I can from now on."
"Unrivalled in-screen experience is undermined by a terrible selection of food and drink. Screens benefit from an exceptional Dolby Cinema audio and visual experience, and the best cinema seats we've found in London. Unfortunately the limited range of food and drink met on arrival (including prices such as £3.50 per can of Coca-Cola) and disengaged staff spoil a visit that could deliver so much more. Our movie was +3 hours, with no hot food and limited snacks available. Everyman cinemas offer so much more in this regard. We hope The Cinema at BPS can make the adjustments needed to give an iconic venue the iconic cinema it deserves."
"Despite the sound and screen quality being great, unfortunately we were left a little disappointed after visiting the cinema in the power station. The website promises “sumptuous reclining seats” however the seats barely recline and don’t stay in the reclined position. They are also not what I would describe as “sumptuous”. There is a nice selection of drinks and wine, but they are not cold and they do not provide wine glasses. The popcorn is not fresh and contained in large bags which means you get a lot of crumbled popcorn in your box. If you want to sit and have a drink before you enter the cinema, there are only about 5 chairs available, so it’s not very comfortable. Most of these things could be improved quite easily and I think would make the experience much more pleasant."
"This cinema is a great addition to the offerings in London, it's grand, comfortable, designed by somebody that actually seems to like to go to the movies. I imagine the idea is to screen the big blockbusters but I hope they make some space for a variety of films so one is enticed to come often, with a tube station 5 minutes walking distance it should be serious competition for the West End cinemas, now it may be faster to get here than to get to some of those cinemas in the fringes of the West End area."
"An absolutely thrilling experience viewing a re-run of Top Gun Maverick in Dolby Cinema. I believe it’s the first independent Dolby Cinema site in the world! Amazing. The venue has the privilege of being located inside the wonderfully restored Battersea Power Station. I have visited their boutique cinema in the Arches at the complex and I have always been a fan of their cinemas but the newly opened Dolby Cinema is pure magic. The sound is absolutely out of this world and the picture is stunning. I can compare this to the Dolby Cinema Odeon in Leicester Square and this venue beats it hands down. Far better seats ensuring a brilliant view even for shorter customers. Amazingly dark so you can really experience the contrast visually and totally immersive and clean sound that makes you feel the audio but doesn't deafen you. Five out of five stars seems stingy to be honest. I just wish I could give it more. I left this beautiful venue last night with a grin on my face! We will be seeing Avatar in 3D tomorrow. Bring it on!"
