"I was appointed to XYZ after the solicitors I was originally using were closed down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. They managed to pick up and complete my conveyancing transaction within an acceptable time period given the circumstances, however communication wasn't great (I had to chase multiple times for updates) and felt things would have been much slower had I not pressed them as much as I did. When I did get updates they were in the form of short, one sentence emails with little explanation of the remaining process. When I did call them for the first time in December they were helpful and explained things would be sorted in early January, however the next time I called them in mid-January, the tone was very different, almost with the attitude that they were doing me a favor rather than being paid a significant sum of money for a service. Possibly this was a side-effect of them absorbing a huge volume of cases from the solicitors that were closed down, but I don't know. I wouldn't necessarily recommend XYZ Law as I have had much better experiences with other firms."

"It’s interesting that comments accompanying a score of 1 are mostly the same and we’re no different! Recently XYZ was recommended by the Estate Agent dealing with the sale of our house. We experienced poor communication, no explanation of the process or what was required and limited interpersonal skills. Legal documents requiring a signature within a time frame were sent by post (during the postal strikes!) business class, not registered or recorded. When we pointed out that it would not be possible to sign and return within the time frame XYZ had set, they said they would email the documents immediately; this didn’t happen either. It was only after several phone calls (not all of which were answered) that the email arrived. Finally, despite an agreed completion date, confirmed by XYZ, they actually managed to get that wrong, sending an email the day before the agreed date to say it was the following week. That really did plumb the depths of incompetence! We sent a letter of concern to the Managing Partner of XYZ regarding our experience and the stress it caused but no reply has been forthcoming. Recommend XYZ? NO"
