"If you're into steam, you'll absolutely love going. If you're not, they've got good cake and cups of tea and I'm sure you'll still learn something. Volunteers are exceptionally knowledgeable and really keen to engage. Check the website before going as they don't open many weekends of the year. You won't need more than an hour or two unless you also go on the steam train nearby."

"Brilliant, fascinating, worth every penny of the entry fee. Quite staggering in scale and power whilst being engibeered to perfection, running vibration-free and remarkably quiet. Loved every moment of my visit!"

"Truly exceptional experience, a real hidden gem. Massive engineering in a cathedral-like building. First visited on one of their special steam weekends where they run one of the huge pumps. It was quite busy but still very accessible. I will definitely return on a quieter day for a more considered wonder around and to take time with photography."
