"I bought a voucher for my husbands birthday. However not long after, I fell extremely ill. To put how serious this was, I nearly died…twice! At one point, we did book, but it was cancelled due to the weather, but then I fell ill again just before Christmas last year (I’ve also offered to provide proof of this). Understandably, the flight was put to the back of our minds and consequently, the voucher expired in December 2022. I came across the voucher a couple of weeks ago and I was so upset my husband had missed out…he’s been my rock. I called Sherburn Aero Club about this and it was suggested I email the Board of Directors, which I did. I was shocked at their harsh, and I mean harsh, reply and lack of understanding, and no we didn’t get our voucher extended. Now I understand that there are terms and conditions to be clearly seen, but this only states that the voucher is non refundable and surely there are extreme exceptions that can overrule these. I feel they’ve been really unfair and their lack of understanding…well I have no words. However, it’s been lovely to read all the wonderful experiences everyone’s had, and I’m so happy for you all. I just wish my husband, after all he’s done for me and our family, could have had that opportunity with the club."

"We attended as part of a large group. Lovely place, clean and lots of seating inside and out. Ample free parking. I had full English breakfast (£9.50). Not massive portions, but acceptable. I asked if I could swap the grilled tomato for something else and the answer was "no", so a little inflexible. I sat outside and watched the planes on the air field while I ate. Overall a pleasant experience."

"Fantastic place to visit bar food and watch small planes helicopters and tiger moth flying and just down the road another cafe with vintage cars and rallys people bringing the old cars along for people to view."

"Popped in to the cafe while out on a bike ride, really nice cafe and the food was fantastic. Nice to sit and watch the coming and goings at the airfield over breakfast! Has a lovely outside viewing area too with benches and a small kids playground."

"Always a place I enjoy going to. Sitting in the garden area watching the planes take off and land is so relaxing, especially on a warm day. The food is great and priced very fairly, the staff are lovely and always happy to help or answer questions"
